PREVIOUS HISTORY
Ron worked in Akron, Indiana for over thirty years as a mechanic.  He was
proprietor of Ron's Garage which was a Phillips 66 station, auto repair shop,
and he also sold some used cars.  He worked as custodian in the Akron
schools and then in McAllen, Texas at Covenant Christian Academy.  Upon
leaving McAllen we moved to Dallas and he began working in construction
    and home remodeling.

I had a beauty shop in my home for 10 years in Akron and then worked at
Akron schools as secretary/treasurer, at Dr. Rogers Podiatry Clinic, then for
Dr. Musselman, and also as realtor for Dave Helt Realty.  When we moved to
McAllen I worked for The Bride Shop as bookkeeper and for  Hamer
Enterprises as contact person between the software programmers and
clients.  I have worked as bookkeeper for Preview and Elaine Kellam and
Associates.  Currently I am employed by The Friends' Place where I
encourage clients with dementia related problems to exercise both their
    bodies and their minds.

For years Ron has endured arthritis.  In the mid 70's he underwent spine
surgery to remove calcium deposits that were causing him to become weak
in his limbs and sometimes to drop things or fall.  This helped and he was
able to continue working as a mechanic.  However, he was never without
some pain.  This pain accelerated gradually but by summer of 2001 he was
again falling occasionally and by September he had lost strength in his grip.
He went to a neurologist and it appeared that he was headed for spine
surgery again.  The symptoms were progressing rapidly and got to the point
that it required him to use two hands to pick up a salt shaker.  The day before
he was to have surgery he went to the anesthesiologist for instructions for
preparation for the surgery.  On that day, after many tests had been analyzed
and being on steroids and arthritis pills for several weeks, he was given the
news that they were unable to find anything that would be benefited by
surgery and that the treatment would be the steroids and arthritis pills for the
rest of his life so that he could maintain some type of normalcy and be able to
    work.

My brother had introduced us to a nutritional technology in August of that year
and I was quick to try it because my mother had been with us for four months
earlier and was dealing with many factors...Parkinsons, arthritis, loss of bone
density and dementia.  I saw many similarities in myself and I didn't want to
go there.  I immediately saw some relief.  I had many times through the years
taken vitamins, minerals or herbs but never saw any visible difference so,
being the impatient person that I am, I was never committed to them.  But
after less than a month of these life changing habits the nutrients were a part
of my grocery list...I will not be without them!  Ron started taking them
seriously in November and by the first of January 2002 he had weaned
himself off the steroids and arthritis pills and had more strength than he had
for months.  He had one knee that would pop out of joint every time that he
would attempt to get out of the company van but after a couple of  months on
the products that too was resolved and has not slipped out of place since!

We believe that there are four areas that need to be addressed to maintain
the greatest degree of wellness.  Those four are:  Peace through faith in
Jesus Christ, proper nutrition (including supplements), exercise and
adequate rest.  I wish I would have understood this while we were raising our
children.   I personally believe that I may have been able to help them avoid
many of the health problems that they have faced.  It is also a real concern for
us to see the decline in the wellness of the people of this country. We have
seen improvement in the lives of many who were very discouraged with their
lack of health but our greatest desire is to educate others that they may be
able to build a level of wellness that will fight and defeat disease before they
have to go through those struggles.

At this time neither Ron nor I  are on any prescription or over the counter
medications.  Dietary supplements are designed to improve nutrition rather
that to treat disease.  However, scientific research has established a
connection between nutrition and many disease conditions.   Adding the
exercise and adequate rest to our faith and supplements has increased our
energy level and our desires to encourage others. Thus our goal to walk 1000
    miles in 100 days.

The 'Senior' years continue to be interesting and even
unbelievable for Ron and Dorothy Martin.  Through the
technology of nutrition that they studied, their lives were
forever changed.  They have since experienced
adventure and wellness that they thought would be lost
once they became part of "The Elderly Club."

Ron continues to be free of the arthritis that he had
learned to live with for nearly 40 years before 2001.
Since their 1000 mile walk through the Midwest to
celebrate his healing and their 50th wedding
anniversary, they have been invited to host book
reviews where the book "Challenging the Road Ahead"
was introduced in Indiana, Missouri, and Texas.

They have appeared on numerous radio stations,
appeared on several television stations, including Dick
    Preston News on KRCG-TV in Jefferson City, Missouri;
Pepper and Friends of Columbia, Missouri;  WNDU-TV
of South Bend, Indiana; and The Joni Show on the
Daystar Network in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Their hope and prayer is that their story can be an
encouragement to others.  Their message is that they
have found it to be true that our bodies were created
with a miraculous ability to heal itself when given the
proper care.  It is our responsibility to learn what "proper
care" is and to implement it.
